Do you archive your work?

In the event any files have been lost and you require them for further work, eg printing of stationery, an administrative fee of £25 is chargeable before additional copies can be mailed or emailed to you.

Do you work to deadlines?

We can never guarantee to meet any particular target date due to unforeseen circumstances that can so easily arise – please make to refer to our Terms & Conditions.
For larger projects we create a Progress Chart to detail the items of work to be performed, identify what "materials" are required, who has responsibility, and what the latest position is.

Web Design

What procedure is involved in getting a web site designed?
There are two possible ways to get the process started... read on >> There are two possible ways to get the process started:

either you provide a Design Brief which enables us to assess your requirements and quote you for the work involved
OR

we arrange a mutually acceptable time and place to meet in order to discuss your requirements and then we create the Design Brief from which we quote you for the work involved.

When the quotation is accepted, what happens next?
Once confirmation is received in writing... read on >> Once confirmation is received in writing, either by mail or email, work will commence on your web site and you will receive an initial invoice for the deposit, in accordance with the agreed payment terms.

How will I know if I like the design of my web site?
Unless additional services have been agreed... read on >> Unless additional services have been agreed, Hinga Design will develop two graphic design proposals for your site for you to review and refine, after which the agreed proposal will be used as the basis for building the actual site.

Will I be able to see how my web site is developing?
Yes, you will be able to view progress to date... read on >> Yes, you will be able to view progress to date at any time by logging on to a specially created sub-domain of the Hinga Design web site, the address for which will be sent to you when work commences.

When will my web site be accessible to the general public?
This is essentially a four stage process... read on >> This is essentially a four stage process, as follows:

You will need to have registered the domain name for the site.
This is the address people will type into their browser, eg www.yourcompany.com.
(This can be done at any time during the web site design process)

You will need to have bought the necessary web space from a hosting service provider.
(This can be done at any time during the web site design process)

Once the site build process is complete and you have approved it in writing we will issue a final invoice for payment.

On receipt of the final payment the entire set of web site files will be uploaded to the remote server and will then be accessible to the general public.

Design for Print & Stationery

How do I start to getting my stationery designed?
If you commission Hinga Design for this work we require... read on >> If you commission Hinga Design for this work we require three things to get started:

Tell us which stationery package you require, ie Alpha, Delta or Sigma.

Supply us with a copy of your company logo.
It often happens that we either previously designed your logo or are doing so now, in which case you can ignore this step.

Send the details to be included in the designs, eg:

Company name and address;

Telephone, fax and email information;

Names and titles of people for whom business cads are required.

Send us the deposit payment for the work upon receipt of which we will issue a 'paid' invoice for your records.

What happens when I’ve paid my deposit?
Once we have received your instructions to proceed... read on >> Once we have received your instructions to proceed we will develop some draft ideas for your review and once these are approved, and the deposit payment has been received, we complete the work required.

When do I receive the final designs?
When the work is completed we advise you... read on >> When the work is completed we advise you by email in order for you to send us the final payment and once this has been received we send you the necessary files to pass to your printers, together with a 'paid' invoice for your records.

What files do you send me?
We normally create files in Adobe Photoshop... read on >> We normally create files in Adobe Photoshop CYMK format, at a minimum of 400dpi, which is suitable for most printers but if your printers requires anything different please ask them to contact us direct.

Can I print my stationery locally?
For stationery to be printed on a local colour printer... read on >> For stationery to be printed on a local colour printer we can supply Word-based templates for your use.

Can you get the printing done for me?
Although we do not have any printing facilities... read on >> Although we do not have any printing facilities ourselves, we are resellers for a major print company and would be very pleased to provide you with a competitive quotation for the work involved.

Can I alter any details after the work has been completed?
Once the work has been completed and the files sent... read on >> Once the work has been completed and the files sent to you, or direct to your printers, if you make any alterations, eg names, titles, telephone numbers, etc, you will incur an additional charge of £15 for each file which needs to be updated.

What happens in the case of bigger design for print projects?

Supply us with a copy of your company logo.
It often happens that we either previously designed your logo or are doing so now, in which case you can ignore this step

Tell us the name of your company and what type of business is involved.

Tell us about the ideas, if any, you might already have.

Describe the purpose of the banner, eg exhibitions, web, local display, etc

Tell us the sizes required and whether it should be in portrait or landscape format.

You receive a quotation from us for your approval.

Send us the deposit payment for the work upon receipt of which we will issue a paid invoice for your records.

What files do you send me?
We normally provide a full quality, high resolution... read on >> We normally provide a full quality, high resolution JPEG file which can be "scaled" to suit your specific requirements, depending on how you plan to use it, but we can also supply files in most other common formats, eg GIF, PNG, BMP (Windows Bitmap), PSD (Photoshop), AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS (Encapsulated Postscript), etc, on request.

What happens if I don't like the final logo or banner you send me?
If the final design in the files sent to you... read on >> If the final design in the files sent to you do not accurately reflect the originally approved design we will work with you to achieve a satisfactory conclusion, on condition that you contact us within 30 days of their receipt.

When the work is complete and I have received the files who owns the copyright?
When the final payment has been received... read on >> When the final payment has been received and the files have been sent to you the copyright, for the agreed final design only, automatically becomes yours but we reserve the right to use your logo and/or banner designs in our portfolio, or in any other marketing and advertising campaign we undertake.

Can I register my logo or banner for full Registered Trademark status?
Yes but you should be aware that this would require... read on >> Yes but you should be aware that this would require the services of a solicitor who specialises in "rights" to take you through the legal process involved, otherwise in the UK there is nothing to prevent you from simply attaching a copyright sign to your design.

Payments

When do I pay?

Payments are made against invoices issued in accordance with the schedule agreed before work commences, normally including an initial deposit and a final payment together with other interim stage payments as required.

Design for Print

50% final balance before any files are handed over.

Print Projects
Payments are made against invoices issued in accordance with the schedule agreed before work commences, normally including an initial deposit and a final payment together with other interim stage payments as required.

Logo Design
50% deposit before work is started;
50% final balance before any files are handed over..

Banner Design

Web Banners
50% deposit before work is started;
50% final balance before any files are handed over.

Exhibition & Display Banners
Payments are made against invoices issued in accordance with the schedule agreed before work commences, normally including an initial deposit and a final payment together with other interim stage payments as required.

How can I pay?

Is the deposit refundable?

Are there any hidden costs?
No, we are not in business to spring surprises... read on >> No, we are not in business to spring surprises on our clients so there are no hidden costs unless you change your requirements at any stage after the deposit payment has been paid and work has started.
